Chaji – Arrival
Guests arrives 15 to 30 minutes ahead of the time listed in the invitation. The host will have done Mizumaki and put the gate and doors in Tegakari if he is ready for the guests to enter. If this is not the case the guest should take a short walk in the neighbourhood. Each guest should count the number of shoes in the entrance as they enter. If they are the last guest to arrive the should shut the gate and doors.
Depending on the place there might be a dressing room or there might not be one. If there isn’t one the guests may change in Machiai. Tie unnecessary items into Furoshiki, and change into new footwear, Jutoku or Hakama.
