When Tsume stands from toko (or kama), all others stand and go to their place; set fan by R side. When all have settled, Teishu opens door. (Guests and Teishu bow together.)

Shokyaku:

  • Please come in.
  • DOZO O-HAIRI O  (どうぞお入りを)

Teishu:

  • Excuse me.
  • SHITSUREI ITASHIMASU  (失礼致します)

Shokyaku:

  • Thank you for inviting us to this chaji.
  • HONJITSU WA O-MANEKI ARIGATOU GOZAIMASHITA
  • (本日はお招き頂き有り難うございました)

Teishu:

  • Thank you for coming・・・・
  • ・・O-KOSHI ITADAKI ARIGATO GOZAIMASU
  • (・・お越し頂き有り難うございます)

Shokyaku:

  • We have been looking forward with pleasure to ・・・・・
  • ・・TOTEMO TANOSHIMI NI SHITE ORIMASHITA
  • (・・・・・とても楽しみに致しておりました

Teishu:

  • ・・・・・・・please make yourself comfortable.
  • ・・・DOZO OKUTSUROGI KUDASAI
  • (・・・・・どうぞおくつろぎ (御寛ぐ)下さい)

(Shokyaku slides back. Each guest, with fan in front, slides out and thanks Teishu simply.)
