Hoshogami
HOSHO SHI (also called HOSHO GAMI) A high grade kozo paper. The name comes from its original use as the paper on which the oral commands of the Shogun were written by government officials and the official seal affixed. This paper originated in Echizen (Fukui Prefecture – since the 14th century ) but is now also made in other papermaking areas. It is highly prized as a wood block print paper. The standard size is 39.4 x 53 cm.
